David Long

David Long

Born in Dublin Ireland. Following a career in the motor trade, moved to Spain in 1994. With lots of time on his hands, decided to open a business in Fuengirola importing food and supplying local restaurants. He sold the business and retired in 2009, and again became restless, and joined Age Concern as a volunteer in 2014. Oversees two of the weekly drop-in centres. Assists with fundraising and events.
Carol Frost

Carol Frost

Born in Torquay, Devon but lived most of her life in London, was a director of 4 companies in England mainly working on Government contracts. Has a background in book keeping and accounts. Moved to Spain after selling the companies in 1985. After the death of her husband Tony in 1991, met David Long in 1994, and they are now married. Carol joined Age Concern in 2015. Looks after the accounts and also helps with fundraising.
Steve Marshall

Steve Marshall

Born in London, a former sales and personal development trainer, he worked with major PLC´s culminating in being Head of Training and Development for the largest vehicle retailer in the U.K. Steve came to Spain 20 years ago and opened a bar, but after 3 years had to retire due to ill health. Inevitably boredom set in. He then joined the board of Age Concern. Looks after press and publicity, organising events, fundraising and volunteers. Lives with fiancee Sally.
Linda Ewen

Linda Ewen

Head of Welfare
From Aberdeen Moved to Spain with her husband in 2001 to be with their daughter. Thankfully her son followed in 2002. Has a background in nursing, care in the community, Post Office and Medical centre. Worked in Spain in the office of an estate agents. Sadly her husband passed away in 2011. With time on her hands she knew she had to do something with her life and is proud to say this is when Age Concern Fuengirola y Mijas was born. Attends to all welfare concerns.
Christine Derecourt

Christine Derecourt

Most of her professional life was spent working in the public sector, and latterly in primary care. She managed a large GP teaching practice in Central London, undertook consultancy work and lectured in health management. She has been involved with the voluntary sector for almost 40 years. She loves spending time with her family, travel, eating out, theatre and lots more. Joined Age Concern committee in 2018. Lives with husband Roger and their beloved cats.
Keith Hogsden

Keith Hogsden

Ex Royal Airforce Air Electronics Engineer. He is from a Royal Airforce family and he has served for over 27 years. As such he has travelled the globe and enjoyed much diversity. Now retired to Spain and enjoying ‘the good life’. He has been a volunteer with Age Concern for about five years, and is kept very busy collecting goods for the shop, driving, and numerous other chores. Looks after care equipment. Lives with wife Terry.

Moved to Spain 18 years ago. He is an ex-Army Warrant Officer and was a magistrate in England. Since leaving the Army, he worked for 12 years as a caseworker with SSAFA. On arrival in Spain, he has worked for Age Concern, ACCASA and is now National Secretary for Age in Spain. Joined the committee of Age Concern Fuengirola y Mijas in 2018. Lives with partner Maureen.
Lesley Taylor

Shop Manager
From Fife in Scotland. Qualified as a medical secretary and went to America to work. After 5 years returned to Scotland to work with her father in his haulage business until he retired. In 1999 she followed her parents to Spain with her partner Dave. In 2000 she opened her first Weight Loss class, and this continues to this day. She has worked with the public all her life and joined Age Concern as a volunteer to work in the charity shop when it first opened.
