Meet your candidate for Secretary at our AGM elections on the 29th April
This biography introduces a dedicated volunteer Lorraine Smart whose commitment to service and community has made a meaningful impact. Through her involvement, she has contributed time, care, and energy to supporting others.
The following words offer her own perspective, sharing the experiences and motivations that guide her work.
Lorraine Smart is committed to supporting the objectives of Age Concern, bringing a wealth of experience in the not-for-profit sector as well as the skills and experience gained in Senior roles in banking and global insurance organisations. Calling on her organisational skills, finance and management experience, she hopes to bring a collaborative approach to Age Concern and become a key promoter.
In addition to her professional roles, Lorraine was a telephone counsellor for Childline for 4 years and more recently served on the Board of The West Lothian Housing Partnership and the Wheatley Group Foundation Board as a non-executive director.
Lorraine retired in 2023 and is now embracing retired life in Spain with her husband. She is also learning Spanish, and plays padel tennis, and other activities as a member of U3A (University of the 3rd Age) in Fuengirola.
